Your Declaration of Faith

(Matthew 12:35)  A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.

A couple of years ago now I did a talk radio show that was basically a success motivational seminar on the radio. There were four shows altogether the first was “You are who you think you are.” The second was “You are who you say you are.” The third was “You are what you are in the habit of.” And the fourth was “You are who you expect yourself to become.”

If you look at all four of these propositions you will discover that each one is completely backed up by strong biblical foundations. Unfortunately we have some how allowed the enemy to take these precepts of success and turn them in on our selves and rather then walking in the blessings of God’s favor, we walk in the curse of our own making.

Today, I want us to make up our minds to allow God to determine the direction of our future. In doing that we first have to know that God has the greatest plan for our lives. We need to realize that it is only when we see ourselves though God’s eyes do we really know the beauty of who we are. Too often we look at ourselves through the mirror of our past and see the mistakes we have made and look at our failures and from that determine our future. God does not see our failures he sees our successes. He sees how we have been strengthened and refined.

And it is not good enough to just think about the promises of God. You are going to have to start manifesting them in your life by speaking them. Now, I am going to have to be very careful today not to get too metaphysical. Because there is very real enemy who will stand at nothing to rob you of this truth. And he is so deceptive that he will use these Godly principles, wrap them in a lie and when you discover the failings of the deception you will throw away the truth with the lie. OK…. There I go confusing my self again.

What I am saying is just because you may have heard this told to you by some guru or psycic psycho and after following it down that dead end, do not disallow the truth that God had planted there from the foundation of the world for you to discover.

Do not give up on truth. It is the truth whether you believe it or not.

Your thoughts control your words. Your words control your actions. Your actions control your habits. Your habits control your character, and your character controls your destiny. So if you control what you think and what you say, you can change your whole life.

A lot of what I am going to be talking about today is real fundamental. However I have listened to some of the most mature Christians fall back into the habit of speaking self fulfilling prophecies for their own harm.

What do I mean by a self fulfilling prophecy? A self fulfilling prophecy is just as it says, what ever you say is going to happen, you end up making happen. So if you say you are not going to be able to loose any weight, well, that is an easy one to fulfill, you just don’t loose any weight. The problem occurs when you say you can’t do something but you try to do it and then get upset when you can’t do it.

What I want you to start doing is to start speaking positive, creative, uplifting words into your life. I am not talking about the old, “Name it and claim it” religion. Let’s not take things out of context but let’s take the truth that God has there for us.  What I want you to do is stop “negging” or being negative about your self and others around you.

In improve theater an actor is susspose to respond to another character with a “yes, and” response. So if someone said…. “the sky is purple today.” Your response would be “Yes and the hills were dancing with red fairies.”….. Or whatever… What you said you could never, never say… “No” Saying no or “negging” someone is the quickest way to quench a scenario. The same is true with the Holy Spirit.

We quench the Holy Spirit when we  are negative and when we do not agree with the way God sees us. We need to start realizing how much power is in our words. Either we are not using the right words by being negative or we are not using enough of the positive life giving, creative power words that God has givein us to reach our full potential.

The biggest problem that most people have today is a poor self image. The truth is you will never rise above the image you have of yourself. We need to stop seeing ourselves through our own eyes or even the eyes of those around us and see ourselves through God’s eyes.

You are a child of God. Within you lies the fullness of God. If you have accepted Jesus as your LORD and Savior then all of your sins are forgiven and you are a new creation. Behold all things are new. No weapon that is formed against you can prosper. You are the head not the tail. All things are working together for your good. You can do all things God will provide for your every need. You have been blessed with every spiritual blessing. Ask and it will be given, seek and you will find. You are more than a conqueror. And if then you know that all these things are tru tehn why do you keep telling yourself that you are a looser. And worse, why do you believe that over the truth.

The truth is the truth whether you believe it or not but you can choose to walk in the darkness of your own deceit.

God has called everyone of you to great things. You have got to stop saying that you are too young or too old, or too fat, or too skinny, or too tall, or too short, or too this or too that.

Jeremiah told God that he was too young…….

(Jeremiah 1:6 CEV)  I replied, "I'm not a good speaker, LORD, and I'm too young."

God has called you for such a time as this…. And you are going to tell him…you are too…. Young or too old or don’t have enough education or what ever your excuse is…..

Look at what God told Jeremiah and realize that he is saying the same to you arbout your excuses…

(Jeremiah 1:7)  "Don't say you're too young," the LORD answered. "If I tell you to go and speak to someone, then go! And when I tell you what to say, don't leave out a word!

Let me ask you this……

How did God create the heavens and the earth….

(Gen 1:3)  And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.

(Gen 1:6)  And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.

(Gen 1:9)  And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so.

(Gen 1:11)  And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.

You get the idea… God gives us the perfect model of creation. “In the beginning was the Word….. and the Word became flesh…

Your words create your world. If you speak failure you live failure. If you speak success you will live success.

Do you want to know where you will be in five years from now? Listen to your words. Start right now speaking words of faith and victory. Start aligning yourself with the truth of God’s word. The truth that you are join heirs with Christ. The truth that you are loved with an everlasting, never ending love…..

Something supernatural happens when you speak out the truth.

Start today to declare your peace.

Declare your prosperity.

Declare your deliverance.

Declare your healing.

Declare your joy.

I read an article about how doctors are treating patients with depression without drugs by getting them to speak self affirmations of positive things about themselves. If you catch yourself saying one negative thing about yourself. I want you to turn that around with five positive things.

Look, I know that there may have been a lot of people in your life that said a lot of hurtful things about you. But you do not have to believe them. The thing is you believe yourself more then you belive other people. And if you say something bad about yourself, you believe it.

Now start telling yourself the truth and believe. It. You may have spent so many years telling yourself negative stuff about yourself that it is going to take a lot of work to get it down into the point where you belive it and start living like the blessed man or woman of God that your really are.

God told Habakkuk that he needed to write it down so that he could see the words and remember them. Get yourself some 3x5 cards and write positive notes to yourself and put them in the bathroom mirror or on your dresser or on the dash board of your car.

(Habakkuk 2:2 &3)  Then the LORD told me: "I will give you my message in the form of a vision. Write it clearly enough to be read at a glance.

At the time I have decided, my words will come true. You can trust what I say about the future. It may take a long time, but keep on waiting-- it will happen!

There is power in your words. Poser to create and power to destroy. Choose them wisely.

I am not telling you to tel yourself that you are healthy when you are not. I am saying to know that God is the God that heals and his will is for you to walk in the fullness of life.

One doctor was talking to a patient who had a terrible sickness and the person was depressed and getting worse. The doctor asked the man if anyone had survived from this disease. Even one person… Of course one person had. In fact many people had survived from it. Well then the doctor told the man to start knowing and believing that he was going to be on of the ones that survived. That realization changed the man’s outlook and he began to get better and was healed.

God will meat you at the point of your expectation.

It is time to start to realize who God is and how powerful and supernatural and almighty he is and how that same supernatural power is available to us as we speak the truth in us that through us.

No more negativity. Starting today behold all things are new.

Don’t talk about the way you are, talk about the way you want to be. Positive declarations of faith. You are getting better and better. Growing form glory to glory. God has great plans for you and it is by His grace that he will continue the good work that he has begun with in you.
